Baños

Saturday 4/1 – Wednesday 4/5
We departed from the Amazon the same way we entered it; in a downpour. We made sure to stop and got lots of chocolate from Kallari before taking a bus to our next stop, Baños.

The town of Baños was bustling and loud! The streets were packed with people and music played late into the night. We took some extra time to explore the city. We soon discovered many awesome restaurants, as well as a nearby cafe that was the perfect spot to grab a treat or chill out.

During the rest of our stay, we enjoyed some awesome outdoor activities including hikes, rafting, and even rock climbing on an actual rock face! The best night was our last, which kicked off the first day of student planned module (SPM). Each of us was assigned a random person from the group to put together a crazy outfit for. After scouring the town for all sorts of clothes and accessories, we suited up and went out for dinner. It was a spectacular display, and several strangers even asked for pictures with us. After a hectic morning, we departed Baños and hopped on the bus to our first new location in SPM: Quilotoa lake.

Sending love to you all,
